Extended electronic signature will be used in conducting customs operations

In the Official Gazette of Romania, Part I, no. 672 from 12 September 2014, was published the National Agency of Fiscal Administration Order no. 2781/2014, approving the use of extended electronic signatures in conducting customs formalities for goods which are brought into and out of the European Union through the customs offices in Romania.

The normative act approves the use of extended electronic signatures to customs formalities for goods which are brought into and out of the European Union through the customs offices in Romania. The legal regime of extended electronic signature is provided by Law no. 455/2001, regarding extended electronic signature, republished.

For starters, the use of extended electronic signatures shall be implemented in the pilot phase for entry summary declarations made ​​in the application ICS-RO for goods that will be introduced in the European Union based on an entry summary declaration.

:: The use of extended electronic signature in the application ICS-E is optional for a period of six months from the date of entry into force of the normative act. After this period, the use of extended electronic signature is required.
