In the Official Gazette of Romania, Part I, no. 214 of 26 March 2014 was published the Chamber of Financial Auditors Council of Romania Decision no. 6/2014, regarding the approval of continuing professional training rules for financial auditors.
The rules were adopted based on International Standard of Education no. 7, on continuing professional development (IES 7) issued by the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC).
Under the supervision of the Public Interest Oversight Board of the Accounting Profession (CSIPPC), the Chamber of Financial Auditors of Romania is the competent authority for educational qualifications, namely organizing continuing professional education and examination of professional competence.
In the Continuous Professional Training Programme, the financial auditors must perform annualy 40 hours of professional training as follows:
– 20 structured hours;
– 20 unstructured hours.
The structured continuous professional training includes participation in the annual mandatory professional training courses organized by the Chamber under the annual professional training program approved by decision of the Chambers Council.
The continuous unstructured professional training include: attending courses / seminars in the field, teaching courses in the area, as a lecturer, participation in congresses and conferences organized by the Chamber and other industry bodies and professional institutions, participation in postgraduate studies, master’s or doctoral field, publishing a book in the field, etc..
