In the Official Gazette of Romania, part I, no. 212 of 25th March 2014, it has been published the Order of the Minister of Justice no. 745/2014 on approving the Regulation of organization and functioning of the National Authority for Citizenship.
The regulatory document approves the Regulation of organization and functioning of the National Authority for Citizenship, a national interest public institution, with legal personality, subordinated to the Ministry of Justice, completely financed from the state budget through the budget of the Ministry of Justice.
The National Authority for Citizenship ensures the application of the legal procedure of awarding, re-acquiring and withdrawing the Romanian citizenship.
The National Authority for Citizenship disposes of an own administrative device, organized at the level of directions, services, offices and territorial offices.
The management is ensured by a president with the rank of state secretary, appointed and terminated through the Prime-Minister’s decision. The president is helped in his/her managing activity by 2 vice-presidents with rank of under state secretaries.
