In the Official Gazette of Romania, part I, no. 208 of 24th March 2014, it has been published the Government Decision no. 196/2014 on approving the specific excise expressed in euro on 1,000 cigarettes equivalent and on the amendments to the Methodological Norms for applying the Law no. 571/2003 on the Tax Code, approved by Government Decision no. 44/2004.
According to the regulatory document, as of 1st April 2014, the level of specific excise expressed in euro/1,000 cigarettes equivalent, provided at Title VII “Excises and other special fees” of Tax Code is of 59.77 euro/1,000 cigarettes.
