Law regarding conferring rights to political persecuted persons, who no longer have romanian citizenship

In the Official Gazette of Romania, part I, no. 398 from 2 July 2013 was published Law no. 211/2013 on conferring rights to persons who lost the romanian citizenship but who were persecuted for political reasons by the established dictatorship starting with 6 March 1945 or those deported abroad or in prison.

The new law states that benefit of provisions of law decree no. 118/1990 on conferring rights to persons persecuted for political reasons by the established dictatorship starting with 6 March 1945 and those deported abroad or in prison, republished, with subequent additions, persons who don’t have the romanian citizenship at the time of application, regardless of their residence if they fulfill the requirements stipulated by provisions of this decree law.

Persons who no longer have the romanian citizenship and have the residence abroad can apply personally the request at payment and social inspection county agencies or agencies from Bucharest, according to the last residence in Romania or by mandatory appointed with a special mandate at territorial agencies in whose territorial jurisdiction reside the mandatory.
