The rescission of the compensatory appeal has come into effect

In the Official Gazette no. 1028 of the 20th of December 2019 it has been published law no. 240/2019 regarding the rescission of Law no. 169/2017 regarding the modification and completion of Law no. 254/2013 concerning the manner of execution of punishments and measures that restrict liberty given out by judicial bodies pending the penal trial, as well as the modification of Law no. 254/2013  concerning the manner of execution of punishments and measures that restrict liberty given out by judicial bodies pending the penal trial.

Thus, the provisions of articles II-VIII of Law no. 169/2017 that provisioned for the creation of a commission that evaluates the imprisonment conditions so as to apply the norms put forward to enforce the compensation for unsatisfactory conditions of detention and the manner in which these norms would have been applied have been subject to rescission.

Likewise, article 55 of Law 254/2013, that creates the legal context for the execution of punishments and measures that restrict liberty given out by judicial bodies pending the penal trial, has been subject to rescission, as it regarded the compensatory appeal.

Furthermore, we notice the fact that the manner in which the calculus that is used to calculate the performed punishment that Is considered fulfilled on the basis of work performed or education or professional education undergone knows changes:
– whenever paid work is fulfilled 4 days of such work shall be considered 5 days out of the conviction executed
– whenever unpaid work is fulfilled 3 days of such work shall be considered 4 days out of the conviction executed
– whenever the work is fulfilled during night time 2 nights of work shall be considered 3 days out of the conviction executed.

30.000 foreign workers have been admitted to be part of the Romanian Labour Market.

In the Official Gazette no. 1031 of the 23rd of December 2019 it was published Decision no. 968/2019 regarding the establishment of the number of foreign workers that are newly accepted in the Romanian labour market.

Thus, for the year 2020 it shall be established that a number of 30.000 foreign workers shall be admitted to be part of the Romanian labour market.
