State companies will no longer be able to use the services of lawyers

On Wednesday, the 23rd of May 2012, the project for the Government Emergency Ordinance regarding a series of measures aiming to reduce public expenses and to tighten the financial discipline and to modify and complete a number of legal texts has been put into public debate. One of the most interesting provisions in the text refers to the ban regarding the acquisition of judicial consulting services, assistance and/or representation by the authorities and public institutions of the central or local public administration, regardless of the means of financing or subordination, national societies, national companies and companies with capital which is mostly or fully owned by the state, as well as autonomous administrations that have legal specialists in their own organizational structure.
