Amendment of Law regarding the National Supervisory Authority for Personal Data Processing. On Tuesday, the 5th of September 2017, the Ministry of Internal Affairs launched in public debate a draft Law for the amending and completing Law no. 102/2005 on the establishment, organisation and functioning of the National Supervisory Authority for Personal Data Processing, as well as for repealing the Law no.677/2001 on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data and the free movement of such data. Amendment of the Government Ordinance on Improving the Financing of the Cultural Programs. On Thursday, the 7th of September 2017, the Ministry of Culture and National Identity has launched in public debate a draft of law for amending and completing the Government Ordinance no. 51/1998 on the improvement of the financing of programs, projects and cultural actions. Amendments to food standards for people deprived of their liberty. On Thursday, the 7th of September, 2017, the Romanian Government adopted, on the initiative of the Ministry of Justice, a draft of law amending and supplementing the Government Ordinance no. 26/1994 on food rights, in time of peace, of the personnel in the national defence sector, public order, and national security, and of the persons deprived of their liberty, according to a Government press release.
The main changes are:
– updating the legal norms on food rights in relation to the criminal legislation;
– amending the standards on the feeding of persons deprived of their liberty in line with the case law of the European Court of Human Rights, in quantitative and qualitative terms;
– the equalization of the caloric scale of the food norms of detained or preventively arrested persons with that of convicted persons.
Minimum mandatory feed rules are to be established after consultation with nutrition specialists by order of the Minister of Justice. [source]
