Dacian Cosmin Dragoș, the new president of the National Council on Ethics in Scientific Research
The Ministry of Education and Scientific Research published on 02.11.2016 the Order of the Minister of Education and Scientific Research regarding the approval of the members of the National Council on Ethics in Scientific Research, Technological Development and Innovation: Prof. Dr. Dacian Cosmin Dragoș (president), Dr. Mihai-Octavian Dima and Dr. Alexandru Popa (vice-presidents).

Bogdan Aurescu, member of the UN International Law Commission
Bogdan Aurescu was elected member of the UN International Law Commision by the UN General Assembly in New York on 03.11.2016. The election was made by the vote of 158 states of the total 193 member states of the UN.
The NIM team coordinated by Roxana Rizoiu won the 11th edition of the THEMIS competition
The team representing the National Institute of Magistracy (Teodora Bogza, Viorela Bubău and Octavia Pripasu) was the winner of the 11th edition of the THEMIS competition organised by the European Judicial Training Network. The finale took place between 31.10.2016-03.11.2016 in Bordeaux, France. This is the third time during the last six years that Romania wins in the grand finale.
Legal proposal concerning parental alienation and parental relationships
The Senator Ioan Ghise lodged a legal proposal regarding the amendment of Law no. 272/2004 and of Law no. 217/2003. The proposal has been drafted by Diana-Iulia Olac and Tudor Becheanu and touches upon: the legal regulation of parental alienation, the improvement of the legal framework relevant for the regulation of parental authority, the possibility of courts to establish an alternative residence for the child, the amendment of the legal framework concerning the issuance of a protection order. The aforementioned service was launched on 02.11.2016 under the name: “What you need to know before the commencement of a BSE session” and it is available starting with 03.11.2016. The aforementioned law, policing and civics book salon reached its 20th edition, according to a press release of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The honorary president of the salon is Ms. Police-Quaestor Irina Alexe, Secretary of State for the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Twenty trusts and national editorial houses, including the publishing houses pertaining to the National Security System were present.
Three years since the signing of the Protocol regarding legal education
Three years ago, on 31.10.2013, the collaboration Protocol between the Ministry of Justice, the Superior Council of Magistracy, the Ministry of Education and the Ministry Delegate for Higher-Education was signed. On the basis of this document, over 500 judges and prosecutors presented children with notions concerning the law, human rights, legal obligations and mutual respect.
