Guarantee limits for First Home program, supplemented by the Ministry of Public Finance
The Ministry of Public Finance approved the allocation to supplement with 500 million lei the guarantee limits for First Home program, according to a press release issued Wednesday, June 1, 2016.
New GD’s on implementing the rules of public procurement laws (classical) and sectoral
On Thursday, June 2, 2016, the Government adopted two GD’s on implementing the rules of public procurement laws (classical) and sectoral, legislation which was necessary for the implementation of primary legislation on public procurement, according to a press release from the Government.
The request to review the change on the National Education Law
Klaus Johannis, the President of Romania, signed Tuesday, May 31, 2016, the request to review the change on the law approving Government Emergency Ordinance no. 4/2016 amending and supplementing the Law on National Education no. 1/2011.
The request was made by Valeriu Zgonea, is his capacity of President of the Chamber of Deputies.
Public debate ref. the concept of “Smart City in Romania”
The Ministry of Communications and Information Society launched on Friday, May 27, 2016, the public debate called “Smart City Romania”. MCIS aims to launch a pilot initiative in September 2016 to increase the investors’ interest in developing projects which sits under the umbrella of Smart City, according to a statement MCIS released Friday, May 27, 2016.

This Guide aims to present in a general manner the anticompetitive practices which may arise in the middle in public procurement procedures and can be consulted here. At the moment only the Romanian version is available.
The Competition Council published its report on the sectorial inquiry regarding the pharma sector
The Competition Council published on its website the report on the sectorial inquiry regarding the pharma sector, which can be consulted here.
As a result of this sectorial inquiry, the Competition Council launched an investigation alleging a possible abuse of dominant position by Novartis Pharma Services Romania because it implemented a pilot distribution process to some pharmacies in parallel with traditional distribution system.
Also, the Competition Council is analyzing a possible infringement of the Competition Act by GSK Romania, by way of implementing a direct to pharmacy distribution system.
